Essence Colour & Go - Sparkle Sand Effect: Me & My Lover

We meet again!

I love liquid sand polishes. Wearing the texture on my nails doesn't bother me one bit (I know it does bother some though.) and I love how sparkly they can appear without being blinding. I will say that Zoya and OPI are among my favorites, and I have a few from Sally Hansen that are really nice as well. The last time I popped in Ulta they had their Essence Colour & Go polishes for 99 cents, so I thought I would bring this gem home with me. Me & My Lover is a red that's right up my alley! It's a beautiful strawberry red polish with shimmer that flashes from silver to gold (It shows up mostly gold) in certain light. I wasn't too crazy about the formula itself though. The pictures shown are taken when it was completely dried, and I thought it just didn't dry to quite the effect that I come to love from liquid sand polishes. This is two coats.

Have a great week!

Quick NOTD - Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Nylon: Mystical Creme

Allo there!

Today I have a quick NOTD to pop in here, and it's a vintage Sally Hansen Hard As Nails with Nylon polish, Mystical Creme. I have QUITE the polish collection (I think around 1,300? Maybe? Who knows anymore.) the funnest drawer in my Melmer is that of my vintage Sally Hansen's! Something about those matching, uniformed caps just gets me so excited! I don't even think I've swatched even half of them yet? They're entirely too fun to collect. Addictive, really. Mystical Creme is a bubblegum pink creme polish. Plain and simple. Nothing fancy here. Formula was really nice for the age, it's dated 1997. This is two coats.

See you later!

Pretty Serious Cosmetics: Glitz & Glam

Happy Saturday!

I hope you all are having a nice Saturday so far, I'll be working during the day and more than likely eating pizza at night. And reading The Walking Dead graphic novels. But who knows, a girl can always get a little crazy. The older I get, the more and more content I am in a quiet night at home.

Today I have another amazing polish to share from Pretty Serious Cosmetics's  Rooftop Soiree collection, Glitz & Glam. I won't even try to hide how giddy I am over this polish! When I first saw the promo shots for this collection, this was the first one that caught my eye and I KNEW I had to have it! I LOVE gold glitter shades, and this one is such a stand out! Glitz & Glam is a bright, vibrant, in your face blend of silver and gold glitter in a clear base. This SERIOUSLY needs to be seen in person to understand how bright this one is! If you're going out for New Years this year, this polish would be perfect! Shown is four very, very thin coats with one coat of Gelous (which I really didn't end up needing honestly, it wasn't a super rough texture) and one coat of topcoat.

Anyone else pick up this stunner?

Deborah Lippmann: 99 Luftballons

Happy Friday, everyone!

My computer is playing games with me. But, for today, it's working. SO I'M GOING WITH IT! We really need a new computer. It's always something, I tell you. Always. Enought bitching. Onto the polish!

Today I have a cute little mini Deborah Lippman to share that I got as a 100 point reward, 99 Luftballoons! It's basically Happy Birthday but with a sheer bubblegum pink base. I actually really don't have very many DL polishes, which really surprises me! I love her glitters, I just thought the price was always steep. When I see them at a good deal though, I'm there! This is two coats over a pink creme polish.

Have a great weekend!

Pretty Serious Cosmetics: Invitation Only

TGIF!

I hope you're all having a great start to your weekend, I know I am! We went and saw the The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies last night. To say that I'm emotional over the trilogy coming to a close and how they wrapped things up is an understatement. I make such connections to mythical worlds in books I read and the movies I see, that it's hard to say goodbye sometimes. In fact, while swatching tonight I'm rewatching the Hobbit movies from the start!

ANYWAY. LET'S TALK POLISH. Today I have my second polish to share from Pretty Serious Cosmetics's Rooftop Soiree Collection, Invitation Only. This ladies, really blew me away! I'm normally one for a nice creme when it comes to grey polishes. But when Kaz says holo polish, I know it's going to impress. And it does! I love this polish so much that I actually stopped swatching and put this on as a full mani. Invitation Only is a smoky mircoglitter metallic grey polish with scattered holo and pink glitter within. It's sophisticated yet edgy all at once. It really needs to be seen in person to grasp its wow factor. Formula was sheer perfection, it applied like BUTTAH. This is two coats shown.

Have a great Friday!

The Hungry Asian: Peachy Keen

Good Morning!

I'm normally not a huge indie polish fan. I never jumped on the bandwagon with everyone else with Lynn's or EP's or any of that. We all know I love my vintage polish so much more. BUT, every once in a while I see an indie polish that I just get all mushy over. I love Kae's polishes over at The Hungry Asian. I have bottles of hers that are almost four years old before indies were all the rage! Her polishes are amazing quality and I really appreciate her creative genius.  Not to mention how cute her labels are! (I mean just look at that adorable, happy peach!)

Today I have Peachy Keen to share. Normally these shades can be hit or miss for me with my skin tone, but I really loved this one! It's almost a neon pastel peach? It's gorgeous. Add pastel multi colored glitter to the mix and I think this is a great polish for the spring/Easter months. This is I believe three thin coats shown here.

See you soon!

Vintage Polish Weekend! Orly: Cool Cucumber

Happy weekend everyone!

Us ladies on Instagram are showing off our vintage bottle shots and swatches this weekend (check me out on Instagram HERE) so I thought I would add to the fun by posting a great vintage polish on my blog!

Today I have Orly Cool Cucumber, a polish I got a few years back in a polish Secret Santa. I love and cherish this bad boy as it's one of the rarest Orly's in my opinion at least. I've yet to see Cool Cucumber pop up on Ebay and I *think* I've only seen it once on Store Envy for an arm and a leg. ONTO THE POLISH, SHALL WE?! I love everything about this. The vibrant, yet muted grassy green is so unique with it's golden shimmer that almost shifts to an orange/red color at times. It almost reminds me of the color of a snake or a lizard of some sort. I have nothing else like this in my stash! It's so beautiful. The formula was a little on the runny side as with most vintage polishes, shown is three thin coats.

Have a great Saturday!

Cult Nails: You're My Dandy Lion

Happy Friday, everyone!

Today I have a quick NOTD to share today, and it's from Cult Nails. Over the summer I ordered I think eight polishes from Maria when she had a crazy good sale. And of course, they sat in my Helmer. For months. And months. I decided I wanted to give one some face time, and I chose You're My Dandy Lion. Sometimes we all just need a bright color to add sunshine in the colder months.

What I really enjoy about this color that that it's a creamy, pastel yellow almost leaning toward neon undertones. I normally don't gravitate towards yellows, but I really enjoyed this one with my skin tone. I love this polish! The formula was very pleasant, nice and even actually! This is two coats.

Enjoy your Friday!

Pretty Serious Cosmetics: Daphne After Dark

Hello again!

I can't believe I'm actually blogging two days in a row. I might even shoot for more! I find blogging to be a rewarding hobby for me and I hope that I can begin to find a schedule that works well for me. I let life get in the way too much. Too easy to do.

Today I have a new polish from Pretty Serious Cosmetics to share, Daphne After Dark! Christmas is my favorite time of the year by far. Ever since I was a child I've loved everything about the holiday season, including beauty products! Kaz and Ben know how to crank out the holiday gems like none other, so of course I had a scoop up a couple from their Rooftop Soiree collection. The moment I laid eyes on this bad boy I knew it would be making it's way to me. A dark grey/blackened jelly base jam packed with an array of small rainbow glitter makes this such a party on my nails! Formula was a little on the thick side, but not a problem to manage at all. This is two coats. With my frustrating new lighting situation I have right now, I really wish I would have done three. I used two coats of Gelous and one coat of Seche Vite to smooth things out. Love this one so much!

Enjoy your day!

Urban Decay: Zodiac

Oh hey there!

I know I've been the world's most inconsistent nail blogger out there for a while now, and I'm not sure if anyone even reads this thing anymore, but hey! I missed swatching and blogging so this is for me if anything. Life gets crazy and busy but sometimes you just need a reminder of your passions to help you reconnect with yourself. For the first time in well, over a year AT LEAST I spent the day swatching! (And watching Revenge on Netflix, of course.) It felt nice. Frustrating and nice. I cannot for the life of my get my lighting situation back to the way I had it. Anyhoo, onto tonight's polish!

Tonight I have a newer Urban Decay polish to share from their Holiday 2013 collection, Zodiac. This polish is seriously STUNNING, people! STUNNING! Green polish is and always has been my favorite, so a sparkly green number is right up my alley! Zodiac is a hunter green foil shimmer polish with a gold/blue duochrome effect to it. It has such a complex, layered look to it that makes it a great holiday color. Formula was pretty great, nice and smooth. This is two coats.

Everyone have a great week, I have lots of polish to share coming up!

Nails Inc Crystal Cap LE: Oxford Street

Happy Saturday!

Today I have a really fun eBay find from the past month or so, a Nails Inc Crystal Cap polish in Oxford Street! These polishes can demand the big bucks, and I was THRILLED when I found one for less then eight bucks shipped. THAT'S INSANE IN THE MEMBRANE PEOPLE. Adding to my excitement is the fact that's it's a BLACK crystal cap! Oxford Street is a medium pink creme polish that has a nice, simple sophistication. This is two coats. Application was very nice.

Have a nice weekend!

Pretty Serious Cosmetics - Stuck In The Middle

Hey there!

I suck at getting posts out sometimes, and it's taken me WAY too long to get this last polish from Pretty Serious's Stop! Collaborate and Listen collection to share, Stuck In The Middle. This gem was created by the lovely Kristy from The Polish Haven. I love me a good pink polish, and it's funny since I never used to! The brighter, the better for this chick! Stuck in the middle is a vibrant fuschia polish with iridescent purple glass flecks and shimmer swimming within. I love how the glass flecks sneak in there in the light, it adds such depth! Application was buttery smooth and this is two coats shown. I really, really love this polish!

Have a great Friday!

Pretty Serious: Swatch and Learn

Hello again!

Today I have another Pretty Serious Cosmetics polish to share from their newly released Stop! Collaborate Collection, Swatch and Learn!

When I first got into blogging and polish over three years ago (I can't believe it's been that long!) Mary over at Swatch and Learn was one of the very bloggers that I first got into, and let me just tell you. She is one of the sweetest girls EVER in the nail community. She has never slowed down on the blogging as well, which is so impressive! I love her creation! Swatch and Learn is such a crazy, complex polish that is just so HARD to photograph correctly! It's green with flashes of pink then gold depending on the lighting. Application was buttery smooth and perfect. This is two coats.

Have a great day!
